YES it's happening!! Your favourite Soul night out SOUL POWER is back for a Xmas Festive Special on Saturday the 29th of December. A perfect way to stop the in between boredom of Christmas and NYE!!
Soul Power is our band Soul Selecta and DJ Rob James playing the best in classic to modern Soul, Funk, Disco, Motown and almost certainly a sprinkle of reggae!
Come and get into the festive party spirit with us. Get your glad rags on, tell all your family and friends and get ready to burn holes in your feet!! What's better than live music, top grooves and great vibe & people!

For those who don't know (if you don't then where have you been?!), Soul Power is our quarterly residency @ The Slug and Lettuce in the Theatre District, CMK with us Soul Selecta (6-piece soul/funk band fronted by Nicky Prince) playing the best in classic to modern Soul & Funk, Motown & Disco tunes, guaranteed to shake your thang on the dance floor!!
Our resident DJ Mr Magic, will be spinning all the classic tunes throughout the evening as usual through till 1am.

Martha Reeves and the Vandellas were among the most successful groups of the Motown roster during the period 1963-1967. In contrast to other Motown groups such as The Supremes and The Marvelettes, Martha and the Vandellas were known for a harder, R&B sound, typified by "(Love Is Like a) Heat Wave", "Nowhere to Run", "Jimmy Mack" and, their signature song, "Dancing in the Street". During their nine-year run on the charts from 1963 to 1972, Martha and the Vandellas charted over twenty-six hits and recorded in the styles of doo-wop, R&B, pop, blues, rock and soul. Ten Vandellas songs reached the top ten of the Billboard R&B singles chart, including two R&B number ones. In 2004, Rolling Stone ranked Martha and the Vandellas among the 100 greatest artists of all time.
Our Soul Power residency at the Slug & Lettuce has now moved from the last to the first Friday of the quarter!
